    VINTAGE INDIAN TRADE OR SOUVENIR BASKET
    Wonderful authentic New England Indian ash splint basket, guessing Penobscot
    , dating 1930s.
    Measuring
    11" wide and 6-1/2" tall with a removable flat top lid, it is decorated with twisty-curl loops on both the base sides and lid side with more accenting the top - it bears a hint of the original vegetable dye red stain that has faded with age (this can be seen on the interior). Condition is good with some damage to loops, especially on the top edge and the underside bottom edge - does not detract.
    Bearing the original golden honey color and aged patina, it is a wonderful large Native American Indian made basket - from my collection to yours - a wonderful addition!
