    Description

This auction is for a vintage Native American woven lidded basket which holds a small glass shot glass.  I believe this is made from sweet grass and was told it was from the North Eastern United states, possibly Passamaquoddy or Iroquois. These little baskets were made circa 1920 for tourists supposedly to hide a shot glass  if they wished a snort during prohibition.  The basket measures about 2 1/4" tall and 2 1/8' across the mouth.  The glass fits in perfectly. The basket is in excellent condition and the glass is also in good condition with no chips or cracks.  I am not shipping internationally at this time.  Thanks for looking.
