Vintage Hat Box, Floral, 1950s.
A large vintage hat box covered with pastel hydrangeas. It measures about 11.5" in diameter by 12.5" tall. Would be perfect for storing scarves, hats, or other special items OR would make a beautiful one-of-a-kind accent piece in your home.
Box is made of wood painted black and was decorated using floral wallpaper, cut with pinking shears for a cute zig zag edge detail. Background is a light gray, with pale green leaves, Kelly green stems, and pink and white flowers.
The box is in vintage condition - it has sustained some staining and scuffs (see photos) but the structure of the box is sturdy. The lid is a tight fit but you can rotate it to find the best spot. To remove, just lift the box by the lid and shake gently - it will slowly slide off. The paper is peeling a little at the bottom edge and the box has sustained some water damage at the base and top. The color has slightly faded over the years and has a matte finish.
