Vintage Cherokee White Oak Woven Basket

I purchased this basket in the late 70's from a reputable dealer in North Carolina as a Cherokee Handled Basket. It has been stored since and never displayed.  It is very good condition other than some out of alignment to the top during years of storage.  There are no holes or breaks in the cane.  It is not signed.
Measurements are: 18.5" Length, 12" wide, and 7.5" deep.  Please look at all pictures.  If you have questions, please contact me.  I have been told by collectors that this basket is made from white oak.
