    Description

Collection of three small baskets purchased
by my parents from Native American sellers in Arizona in the late 1960's or early 1970's.  They have been kept safely in their cherished collection ever since.  I am slowly adding other items from their collection to Ebay.
The larger piece is about 7.75" across and 2" deep.  The thunderbird and bat baskets are about 4.5" across and about .5" tall.   All are in very good overall condition with no breaks or although the basketry materials (bear grass, yucca, devils claw) may have faded some with age.  Note the detail in the eyes of the bat and thunderbird!
A little info about the Tohono O’odham
    The name (pronounced
    to-HO-no oh-O-tahm
) means “desert people.” The tribe was formerly known as the Papago, a name the Spanish called them that came from a mispronunciation of a Pima word meaning “bean people” or “bean-eaters.”
