Sm decorative Knitting Basket w/yarn balls & knitting needles: M Newenham-MicMac

Lovely small decorative basket, 2.5" diameter  with 7 tiny balls of yarn &  tiny knitting needles by Mary Newenham, MicMac basket maker.  This small basket is a miniature of the much larger baskets that are/were made bushel size (and 1/2, 1/4 bushel too) for harvesting potatoes in Aroostook county where Mary lives.  Mary has even wrapped the rim with an X wrap of an ash splint ... like the better made much larger potato baskets.  The basket is 1.5" high to the rim and 2" high to the top of the handle - 3.5" overall height.  ....
This basket has a green and red dyed splint decorative band at the center.  Each knitting needle is topped with a blue bead (really look like knitting needles!)  The yarn is colorful, blue, red, orange, purple, pink, gray and dark green.  A really lovely decorative basket.
I am a knitter and I use a 1/4 bushel potato basket to store my yarn and to move it from place to place as I knit.  - There are (or were if some have sold) 3 even smaller of these decorative knitting baskets by Mary Newenham in this eBay store.  I find the smaller size great for use as Christmas tree ornaments - especially for any knitters or crocheters you know.    These baskets really appeal to me and I have kept one to hang on my tree and another to give to a friend who knits.
