    Description

    Savio SUV050 - 50-watt Uvinex UV Clarifier
    Savio SUV050 - 50-watt Uvinex UV Clarifier
Savio Engineering 50-Watt Uvinex System for use with Standard Skimmerfilters
This 50-watt UV clarifier can be added to the Savio Standard Skimmerfilter only. Each SkimmerFilter can hold one or two sterilizers. Inserts directly into Savio Standard SkimmerFilter, no plumbing required. Savio's UVinex UV system uses a coated ultraviolet lamp to avoid the need for fragile quartz sleeves.
For ponds up to 9,000 gallons (recommended to use two units for ponds over 4,800 gallons). Maximum flow rate: 4,750gph per UV unit. 12 ft. power cord. Note: This UV is for the Standard SkimmerFilter only. 1 Year Manufacturer's Warranty on Transformer
What is the difference between an ultraviolet sterilizer and an ultraviolet clarifier?
Actually, there is not a difference in the units themselves, the difference is in the ratings provided for the appropriate pond size and flow rate. By following UV sterilizer ratings the pond should have clear water despite most other conditions and the UV will also be more effective against controlling microscopic pathogens. A UV clarifier rating typically means that you may not have crystal clear water all the way to the bottom. It also assumes that the pond has good plant coverage (greated than 50%) and adequate biological filtration. When following UV clarifier ratings it is a good idea to oversize the UV to help ensure cleaner water.
    Savio SUV050 - 50-watt Uvinex UV Clarifier
Ultraviolet clarifiers eliminate green water. Can be added to the Savio Standard SkimmerFilters. Each SkimmerFilter can hold one or two sterilizers. Inserts directly into Savio SkimmerFilter, no plumbing required. Increase the effectiveness of your filtration; New Stainless Steel Ballast
Its design is virtually maintenance free Simply wipe the bulb clean with a damp rag to restore its effectiveness, and you’re ready to remove algae, again the chemical free way
For ponds up to 9,000 gallons (recommended to use two units for ponds over 4,800 gallons). Maximum flow rate: 4,750 GPH per UV unit
50- Watt UVinex System with 12 ft. power cord
A great product that assist in making your water feature one step closer to a maintenance free existence

FAQs & Calculations to Help Select the Correct Kit
    1. How Many Gallons of Water does My Water Feature Hold?
    Rectangular Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.48 = Gallons
Example: A rectangular pond 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond is...
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Oval Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 0.8 x 7.48 = Gallons
Example: An oval pond 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ deep is...
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Round Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.48 =Gallons
Example: 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Streams
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 0.25 x 7.48 = GALLONS =Gallons
Example: 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    2. How Big of a Pump Do I Need??
Minimum pump size is determined by pond type, water volume, head height and friction loss. The minimum pump size recommendations are:
    Water Garden, Few Small Goldfish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 2 hours.
Example: 2,000 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Fish Pond, Several Small Fish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 1 hour.
Example: 3,800 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Koi Pond, Several Large Fish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 3/4 hours.
Example: 2,000 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Calculating Head Height
Dynamic head pressure is found by taking the vertical height of your waterfall; the distance between where your pump is (typically in the skimmer) and where your waterfall is, and adding the static head pressure (pipe and fittings) 1’ for every 10’ of tubing and 1’ for every elbow or “T” fitting.
    Example: 3' (vertical height) + 2.5 (25' of tubing) + 2' (for 2 elbows) = 7.5' of Dynamic Head Pressure
    Note:
It is important to take into consideration while calculating how much flow will be at the top of your waterfall by accounting for the head height due to the laws of fluid dynamics. Please refer to the flow chart above to help choose the correct pump.
