    This Hat Box was Purchased at the Schleisner Company Department Store in Baltimore, Maryland.
    At the time this Department Store was one of a very few stores that offered credit to it's customers.

    centuries, many Baltimore stores eagerly offered their customers credit, installment plans, and the like. Customers were typically known personally to the storekeeper, and their payments (or lack thereof) were tracked in ledgers, by hand.
    The Trade or advertising card for B. Schleisner’s store, 307 E. Baltimore St. looked like the one in the pictures.
