    Description

Vintage Papago Tohono O'odham Native American Indian BASKET - Arizona.   The split stitch basket is made of Bear Grass and sewn with Yucca in such a manner that the coil is exposed to form part of the pattern.  Much work, effort and knowledge is required to prepare the material even before the weaving begins.  The weaving is a very slow process and one of the oldest of Indian crafts.  Basket measures approximately 4" wide (at widest point) x 4" high (including lid knot).  Basket has only been displayed.  Comes with the original information tag including the name of the artist (Priscilla Miguel - Arizona) who made this beautiful basket.   Has only been displayed over the years.
Condition:  Very Good condition with exception of one small piece of yucca which has broken off at the top rim of the basket (see photo).  No other issues.
Shipping:  .00 via USPS First Class Mail.  Ship to USA only.
