OLD PIMA OR TOHONA O'ODHAM FINE LOW BASKET, ODD TANNED STRAP FOR SUSPENSION?

Description

This low basket is very well made, tight, distinct design, and in fine condition...no damage.  It has the unusual feature of a length of tanned hide (deer or goat?) affixed at the central start, which allows it hang in an upturned position...as you see in my views.  That strap does not slip thru the basket, but is fixed permanently in place.  It measures approx.  8" W at the top and stands just short of 3" H.  I cannot be sure if it was made by Papago or Pima, but it has age to it.  Check out my OTHER ITEMS/SELLER STORE.
