  • Condition: This is a pottery lamp made for the tourist market by an Acoma Pueblo artist and purchased in the Santa Fe square Indian Market in the mid 1970's by the local Eagar doctor and his wife. They purchased it from a woman artist but it is not signed and they did not document her name. This is a large and beautiful lamp with the Acoma parrot and flower similar to the other pot I have for sale on my store in a separate listing ( I have included a picture of the two together for you to see). The pot is not included in this listing. It is in very good vintage condition with slight irregularities (hand made) from creation and small gooves in top of pottery that may have been during creation or from use. (difficult to see in pictures since they are few and small). The shade is made of stitched together wood strips in a fluted form. I do not know if the shade was Native American made or not. It was purchased with the lamp. Approx: Measurement: Pot 26.5" x 11" Max Dia. Shade:15" x 20" Dia

    Description

This is a very RARE find!!  The Pueblo Native Americans created pottery lamps for sale to the tourist trade in the 1970's.  I was told that during the 70's lamps were created for sale and were popular.  I have never seen one like this before.  It is stunning!!  The shade is a bit ragged along the edge but it is rough wood strips and just shows some use but is in really good condition for its age.  I see no breaks or disassembly.
Approximate measurements:  Pottery lamp base 26.5" Tall x 11" Max. Dia. Shade:15" Tall x 20" Max. Dia.
The shade will be shipped separately and add to the shipping.
Shipping cost will be adjusted according to location and an invoice will be sent with accurate amount.  The size and weight of the shipping container is an estimate.
