Hopi coil basket weaving isn't something you learn overnight. All of the weavers we have baskets from grew up in a house that wove baskets, something that was introduced to them from an early age. You will find these basket weavers on the Second Mesa. We have an interview with Irene Lamayaktewa who talked a little bit about the colors you find and the materials in coil basket. ???We make the coil basket from straw and yucca that we pick from areas around Hopi. Many of the colors are from the yucca plant, yellow comes from yucca being harvested in winter, the white is summer, and the green can be picked any time of the year. Also, we will use sunflower for the black and Hopi Tea (hohocy) for the red.?۝ Make sure you look through our online collection. We have both baskets and plaques.
Shipping
We ship every day Monday through Friday via USPS Priority Mail. Your order will ship within 48 hours Monday through Friday except holidays. Insurance is included on all orders.
Returns Policy
With every purchase we allow for a provisional 30 day inspection period. If for any reason you do not want to keep an item that you have purchased, simply return the item in original condition within 30 days of receipt. You will be refunded the purchase price. Return shipping not included.
We are extremely reasonable, but the inspection offer is provisional--exclusively at our option. This is a service that most companies would only offer to established account customers. Each of our pieces is unique and carefully photographed. If we feel that the returned piece is in any way damaged, or different than the piece that we originally sent, we will return the item to you and no refund will be offered or made.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel an order, call us immediately. We can cancel an order at no charge before it is shipped.
Please make sure that you are satisfied with your order before proceeding to checkout. We cannot combine or add to any order once checkout has been completed.
