    Description

    Offered is an extraordinary Paiute basket olla from a local estate of a Native American collector. This basket may have been woven in the Walker River region. It is 17.5 inches tall by 17.5 inches wide and has a girth of 58 inches. The basket is in very good condition. The weaver wove handles into the basket, but they no longer exist. There remains a remnant of a handle (photo #2) and a tiny hole where the other handle was located (photo #4). It is rare to find a Paiute basket of these large dimensions and beautiful proportions.
