Description
Offered is a beautiful, vintage Northeastern Indian Wabanaki (Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Micmac, or Maliseet) Sweetgrass and Ash Sewing or button basket. This is in wonderful vintage condition. It measures 6 1/2" by 3". Sweetgrass has darkened a bit and the orange dye on bottom has slightly faded, which attests to its age.
It is signed by the maker, Stella Miller. I bought this is a large collection of Northeast Native American baskets, so I don't have any additional information about the maker or which tribe she was from. It is a classic Wabanaki basket.
General Information about our business, shipping, holding items,
etc.:
* Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them.
*We w
ill gladly combine orders to save you on shipping charges. Please email for a combined invoice before paying. Sometimes a few first class items jump to priority pricing (.25 and up) because weight puts a package over the 16 ounce limit. Sorry, I can't combine collectibles and book/Magazine purchases.
*If you want me to hold items for the next week's auction, please contact me and
wait
to pay until the last auction ends. Then I'll send you a combined invoice. If you pay right away, I will NOT be able to hold your items due to Ebay's ship within 1-day after payment rule. Please tell me if you are waiting for next week's auction. If you don't communicate and don't pay, you will get an automated non-paying bidder notice from Ebay after 4 days. Thank you!
*International Buyers:
I will mail first class to Canada but to all other locations, I prefer to mail priority to insure your item arrives safely. Please email me with questions. Sorry for the expense, but I've had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don't want to take the risk of losing items.
*I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. Though I don't like styrofoam peanuts for environmental reasons, I have found they are the best at protecting fragile items against damage during shipping. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. Thank you.
* Please contact us before leaving negative feedback if something isn't right with your item. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase
