Description

Up for auction is a handwritten ledger circa 1824-1830. I did not  research the ledger in much detail other than a cursory examination of the contents but believe there is much to discover within the pages. The ledger is measures 8 x 12 with 1
67 numbered pages.
In addition sections of the binding show missing pages that were removed at some point in the history of the ledger. I discovered four letters within the pages  I have not read the letters in detail they are dated  1832, 1854 and 1868. I also found a note card and it seems someone was doing research in the 20th century the card states
” Bennington Vermont James Hubball sawmill ?”
Many names are mentioned in the ledger accounts section such as
David Robinson, Steven Rice, James Hubbell, G.C. Merrill, David Armstrong, Jared Sears, Hiram Henry, Eligh More, Rubin Calvin, Elias White
just to name a few. In addition children got a hold of this ledger and drew numerous crude pencil sketches and drawings on the sheets ( see my photos)
Condition is poor / acceptable/ ledger is still bound ,but pages have been removed some pages torn missing pieces, expect light staining overall age toning. As always any questions feel free to ask.
