We are very lucky to have both the rare Golden Spangled, and the very rare Chamois Spangled!  I believe at this time, that we are one of two breeders in the United States to have show quality Chamois.
Most will hatch Chamois, but we do get a darker Chamois chick every once in a while, but rarely.
The Appenzeller Spitzhauben is a rare breed to the United States. This is a very cold hardy breed with a great personality.
These birds are very good at foraging and are one of the most intelligent chickens we have ever raised. They are absolutely beautiful!
From Switzerland, and lay pure white, large size eggs. The Appenzeller Spitzhauben is noted for its very unusual forward-pointing crest and v-shaped comb.

*Our eggs are very fertile, we hatch constantly. We keep one rooster per four hens.
**We are not responsible for hatch rates as there are so many variables in different incubators, individual hatching techniques, and so many factors out of our control after they leave our hands, including broody hens and also during shipping. Hatch rates and fertility are two different things. Not all fertile eggs will hatch. Shipped eggs are a gamble as the process of shipment can damage them. Hatch rates with shipped eggs are less than with eggs not shipped**

What is The Sweet Chicken Project?
Our flocks are hand raised with loving kindness. All of our flock members have names and are part of our family. On our homestead we even have a retirement home for older birds no longer laying. We love them and they are cared for through old age here, where they can live out their natural lives.
When you decide to raise chickens you have a few choices of how to obtain them. In most cases, you really don't know what kind of genetics they'll have other than the breed, and they may have come from a less than ideal situation.
Chickens carry traits, temperament and personality from their parents, grandparents and so on just like us. You really have no way of knowing what kind of temperament they will have.
We have worked very hard at obtaining the sweetest, friendliest, kindest flock of birds that not only are affectionate, but can be handled by young children. We truly love our birds and they reflect that back to all of us everyday. Yes, even our roosters are sweet & child friendly, from our proven genetic lines.
The Sweet Chicken Project is in it's 10th generation of birds with these kind traits. We offer hatching eggs & chicks carrying these fantastic genetics.
