Artisan
: Delmundo Cepress: He is a San Carlos Apache Tribal member and resides on the Reservation.
Delmundo learned weaving from grandmother Rope Evelyn. He learned the skill in 2 weeks. He weaves 1’ basket to 15” ceremonial baskets. He has been weaving for a year (2021) now. He gathers the river willow and cottonwood branches from all over the reservation. He shapes the tin cone from the tin sheet. His bottom of the basket is wider than usual which is his way. He is one of the young generations keeping the tradition.
Materia
l: River willow, cottonwood, metal ring, tin and buckskin. The weaving is tight and even.

:  The diameter of the basket is 2" and 1.5" side length and total length is 5"
Culture
:
Apache Burden basket was used like a shopping cart of the present day. The Apache women carried all the goods in the baskets when they went out to the fields and mountains to gather berries, herbs, roots, fire kindling and other thing. It is also used at the Traditional Sunrise dance ceremonies. Some people hang the small basket by the door to place their burdens and troubles in.
