    Description

UPDATE: For all of you who tried to buy one of these books last time I listed them, only to find out they were suddenly all gone, good news!, I just found another box of these that was tucked away and dusty, but now I have more of these high-demand books to sell. AND, I lowered the price this time!!! Now only .95 each. Thanks! Dennis
Wow!  Here's something you won't see everyday!
In cleaning out an old printing company building I just ran across two unopened boxes of the definitive guide to identifying the true and correct name for vintage / antique quilt block patterns. These were found in storage and are still in like-new condition. Previously impossible to find!
This book was originally a mail-order catalog printed by the Lady's Art company St. Louis Mo. in 1923 and was reissued in 1990 by the Vanderkellen company as a reference guide.
There are more than 500 different quilt block patterns shown!
The Lady's Art company produced and sold precut and pre-sewn quilt blocks for women who wanted to make a handmade fine quilt, but may have lacked the time or skills to cut, assemble and sew the blocks themselves.
This book has prices that are entertaining to see. "Old-fashioned oil calico, figured, 22¢ per yard" and "finally pieced quilt blocks 15¢ each or 12 for .00" !! Imagine, a seamstress 97 years ago making a living by producing precision quilt blocks for only 8¢??  Very interesting reading! Also contains detailed instructions on Quilt Block making, Setting blocks together, How to finish a quilt, Hand quilting, Materials needed, etc.
There have probably been dozens of different quilt pattern I.D. books published over the years but this one looks to be by far the most complete and accurate I have seen. Many quilt patterns are often incorrectly named. This book will correctly identify all patterns made before 1920.
It is printed on heavy stock so it's sturdy enough to carry with you.
Postage is only .95 per-shipment, regardless of the quantity you buy, not per-book.
    Thanks! Dennis
