This extremely rare huge Penobscot woven large basked out of ash is spectacular. It was made approximately ca. 1890s and is in mint condition - Museum Quality! Exquisite workmanship held in curio cabinet for years out of sun - no smoking/no pet home. Liquidating a large three generation estate of fine rare antiques. One member was a serious collector of finest American Indian made basketry - this one was his favorite! Some photos show white areas...flood light...NO discoloration on this antique basket! Measurements: total height 22 1/4", height of basket only 9 1/2", width of the handle opening,10 1/2". Base 4 12" width, depth of basket 6 1/4". Extremely fragile and huge...will take significant wrapping/handling as in mint condition reflected in s/h charge. Extremely rare to find a huge basket in mint condition.
