***if you wish to combine items for up to 24+ eggs of any breed for the shipping price of 19.95, please contact me so I can set up a special listing just for you***This includes 6+ Lavender Orpington hatching eggs, to be shipped within 5 days after payment is received, with USPS Priority 1-3 day shipping.
We have had excellent hatch rates for the 2020 season—95% fertility with 90% hatches. Our Lavenders are our most beautiful, gentle birds. They are large, fluffy, and very productive, laying almost every day. Orpingtons are also great dual purpose birds, if you’re into processing—but of course, we think they’re too pretty for that.
Chicks produced from these eggs may hatch cuckoos OR solids, as we have 2 double barred cuckoo hens in the pen with solid females, a solid rooster, along with a (UPDATED March 2021) DOUBLE barred cuckoo rooster. Cuckoos will be easily identifiable upon hatching by the lighter patch on their head. They possess the characteristic pastel Lavender color, and will breed true for the next few generations before it begins to fade or need improvement. These are gorgeous, quality Lavender Orpingtons for those wishing to add some eye candy to their yard!
I will not send eggs older than 3 days. Please allow for up to a 10 day handling time following payment. Eggs will ship out on the next postal day. They will be bubble wrapped, insulated, and double boxed with peanuts and lots of bubble wrap. We haven’t had a crack reported this season. The box will be well labeled as fragile, unless buyer requests otherwise. We suggest holding for pickup at the post office. All shipped eggs will be accompanied with the NPIP/AI Clean VS 9-3 form. Please message your contact number if you wish for USPS to call when your eggs arrive.
Unfortunately, we can not guarantee the hatch rate on shipped eggs. Many variables are at play with shipped eggs, such as postal handling and personal incubation procedures. If your box visibly had a rough trip, I suggest taking photo documentation and alerting the post office to mark the package as damaged.
DISCLAIMER: Seasoned hatchers already know this, but if you’re a newbie, do not assume the eggs were not fertilized just because you had poor results and no development. I can’t control USPS, your incubator, and/or your broody hen. We have had great results hatching our own, and that is all I have to go by. Our roosters are doing their job. If you are new at this or have questions, I urge you to contact me if you need pointers. Shipped eggs are not easy, and are risky. Anything from too much vibration during shipping, temperature fluctuations, your incubator settings being off, etc—many things can go wrong. However, we will do our best to ensure the greatest viability by sending the freshest, cleanest eggs, in highly secure packaging.
Not into hatching? Feeling like it’s too risky? We also have chicks available! Please contact me for further details and happy bidding! We are VA NPIP/AI Clean 52-410.
