    Description

The 1975-1977 Chouinard catalog (mostly the same, minor variations), is second only to the extraordinary 1972-1974 "Watercolor" catalog in clmbing importance. It features extensive instruction on using chocks at a time when the concept of clean climbing was still new. There is a long article, with eight photos, called "Running Talus" by Doug Robinson. And it introduces Rugby Shirts, which quite literally were the foundation of Patagonia Softwear.
This 1976 catalog is in excellent condition considering it is 45 years old. The "Machapuchare" catalog was plagued by bad binding so the vast majority of the ones you find have loose pages. This one has the binding intact, which makes it even more valuable.
As seen in the photo, it was signed on the inside of the cover by Yvon at the 2000 Banff Summit Festival after his slide show. This sale includes a Certificate of Authenticity that will have the buyers name (or giftee).
