    Description

    "From the Third Street entrance of old L.S.U. Campus the parade will start at 10:45 a.m.; march south on Third Street to North Boulevard, east on North Boulevard (north side); to East Boulevard; west on North Boulevard (south side) to State Capitol, pass reviewing stand on north side of State Capitol to Front Street. Louisiana National Guard units will escort the Governor and his party to the Capitol grounds and salute the Governor as he mounts the inaugural platform. All organizations with the exception of sponsors decorated cars will turn south on Front Street and disband. Sponsors decorated cars turn north on Front Street and disband."

Rare.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Original printed wrappers, side-stapled - upper cover illustrated with the Seal of Louisiana, with the pelican and her young appearing within a circle of blue, and likewise the inscription "Union, Justice, Confidence" - lower wrap depicts the Stars and Stripes and the State flag of Louisiana, the two standards crossed in artistic manner. As the booklet is opened there is revealed the photograph of Huey P. Long, governor-elect, and on the opposite page, the photograph of Dr. Paul N. Cyr, lieutenant governor-elect. On the succeeding pages are carried the full schedule of inaugural day events, and the names of those composing the various committees.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Couple minor nicks and scuffs to covers - old staples oxidized - slight waving at head throughout: contemporary newspaper clipping mounted (glued) inside lower cover - contents clear and unmarked - acceptable condition overall.
