    Description

1807 Draped Bust Large Cent, S-276, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Very Fine details (for corrosion), with Mint error.  What history at the time of its minting - Jefferson was President, and Louis and Clark had just returned from exploring the lands of the Louisiana Purchase!  This 1807 cent, variety Sheldon-276, has no more than moderate corrosion, mostly on the obverse.  The dies certainly were not lined up exactly right: the aforementioned Mint error is a more than 160 degree rotation of the reverse die, so obverse and reverse are almost aligned as a "medal turn" instead of the traditional U.S. "coin turn."  With NGC providing the authentication and grading you need for peace of mind and surety, we offer this
    Early American large cent
    for your collecting.
