Description
PCGS authenticated and graded VF 35.Glossy medium brown and chocolate with subtle wood grain like patterns on the obverse. Struck at least 3 times despite the Double Struck label from PCGS, the first two strikes were nearly centered on the planchet but were offset by a 5-10 degree rotation between those impressions. This is clearly visible at AMER where the obverse cap is boldly doubled with a 1-2 millimeter separation between those impressions. The double struck planchet was then flipped over and struck once more slightly off center to K-10 but with all the designs on the planchet. Plenty of the under type first two strikes is visible on the right half of both sides.
Smooth surfaces, free of notable marks, a
choice example of a fantastic mint error.
