HB Marans FBCM flock has been built from the 4 foundational Imported French Marans Lines in the US over the last 16 years. Cottage Hill, Bev Davis, Wade Jeane and last added several years ago Little Peddlers Marans. Just to let you know the time that has went into my flock I waited on a list for two spring seasons to get my eggs from Brenda Little whom owns Little Peddlers Marans and is the founder of The Marans of America club. I paid 5 for 6 eggs.
I’ve never added any Marans from breeders other than the ones I’ve listed. So NO hatchery Marans.
I’ve worked hard over the years on my flock. My goals have always been not only the large dark reddish brown eggs that Marans are well know for but their confirmation and beauty. I strive for both beautiful French Standard of Perfection birds and The dark egg in my flock!
When I hatch out new Marans I only select the very best quality chickens that meet the French Marans S.O.P. standard of perfection. Then have grown those birds out to see how they develop & what they lay if they are hens. Then again select only the darkest laying girls to stay and be breeders in my flock.
I only raise & breed F.B.C.M. I have exclusively worked to maintain and improve my flock of birds for many years. I enjoying sharing my lovely birds with people who appreciate this breed. I’m asking minimum price for shipped eggs because I want them to turn over quickly & I do realize the possibility of significant drop in hatchability of shipped eggs so that is reflected in my buy it now price. I do offer local pickup at request for per egg.
Please remember Darkness of eggs varies with Marans according to where they are in their laying cycles and their age. As you can see in my egg pictures, I haven’t lined up the darkest eggs from the last week to take a “selling” picture. Amongst the Marans eggs you can see the variation of the dark eggs and this is what you will have from the eggs you buy and your grown chicks.
Obviously the white eggs and light brown are not my Marans eggs for any of you that may be wondering. :) Those eggs are from my children’s few chickens they keep.
No returns or guarantee on hatch rate. Too many variables come into play with shipped hatching eggs and also your incubation process and equipment.
I have the best incubation and hatching result with Marans eggs by keeping the humidity in the lower level of the range. Just a suggestion. :)
You know your incubator and your climate best so take that into consideration. I live where it is quite humid.
Your eggs will be carefully chosen & candled then gently packed.
If you have any breakage from the shipping, take pictures immediately. A claim can be filed via USPS and I will be happy to replace any broken eggs if you pay the shipping.

Shipping flat rate Priority Mail is anywhere from 1-5 days depending on your location. If you purchase on a day that will hold your eggs up sitting at your post office on a Sunday and your NOT good with that, LET ME KNOW and I will ship them out Monday to avoid that. Other wise, as soon as I collect your fresh eggs I WILL ship them.
ATTENTION:
Please take into consideration your weather. If it is super hot or cold where they are going it may not be a good time for you to buy eggs via the mail. Unless you want to take that chance.
If you would like to pick your eggs up at your local post office to avoid them traveling around even more in your local mail truck till they get to your house, you will need to contact your local United States post office with your tracking number I’ll provide you after I ship, tell them to hold them, give them your number and they will call you when they arrive so you can pick them up there. I can put your phone number on the box BUT I’ve been informed the recipient of the package has to make this request via their local post office after they have the tracking number. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Please Do Not Wash your eggs! You will remove the protective bloom the hen puts on them right before she lays them. The bloom protects the egg from bacteria entering through the shell and keeps the right amount of moisture in the egg as well. You will actually push bacteria into the egg and infect it by washing. I do not send dirty eggs and there is no need to wash them.
Please let your eggs rest at least 12 hours before incubation!
